Where to start? Might as well go by day, I guess.
Monday: Chris threw out his back and spent the remainder of the day walking around hunched over like a 90 year old man. He was pretty miserable, but is on the mend and feeling much better today.
Tuesday: Two of my students (1 boy, 1 girl), who are both on behavior consult (that's bad), got into a very intense verbal fight, so I stepped in between them to prevent it from becoming a physical fight. It's a long story, but to summarize, the girl ended up getting punched in the back anyway and I got pushed around quite a bit, and even over a chair at one point. I am completely okay, but it was weirdly fun to hear how the story morphed throughout the halls today. By the end of the day, the word on the street was that my head busted open when I was pushed over the chair and the school had to call 911. I was then taken to the hospital to have my head stitched up.
Wednesday: I had to call the Department of Child Services because of a domestic dispute that endangered one of my students and caused physical injury to her younger sibling. I'm not sure how much of what she said was true, but my heart broke as she told me her story. DCS investigated and felt it was safe for her to return home after school today. I pray they made the right decision.
We also learned today that Evan's favorite teacher, Ms. Esrene, has accepted a job as the director of a daycare in another town. She will be leaving next week and we know Evan will be devastated.
On the plus side, the band director at my school is retiring at the end of this year and I have officially been offered, and accepted her position. My position was posted on the district website sometime this week. After seven years of paying my dues as a general music teacher, I finally get to do what I spent so long in college preparing for. Yay!!

9 months old!
9 months old today!
Not very happy that we made him sit still to take a picture.
Picture is done, time to play.
Evan had a great check-up today. He's in the 23rd percentile for weight and the 74th for height. The best part was no shots, although he did get a prick in his big toe to check for anemia. His iron levels checked out great, too. His next appointment won't be until a few days after his first birthday! Where has the time gone?

I'm gonna get you!
I'm gonna get you...
I'm gonna get you...
Get you, get you, get you!!!!
Enjoying the scenery outside, while staying nice and cozy inside.
I'm not too sure about eating bananas, but I've heard they make a great facial moisturizer.
Lovin' bath time in the big boy tub!
I think I'll dump all my crackers onto the living room floor. Mom will never find out.
Busted.
Awe, come on mom. You know I'm too cute and lovable to get upset with me.
Yes, she bought it!
Now, I think I'll pull all my books off the shelf. I'm having so much fun!
Evan and daddy watching the Super Bowl.
Our little mover and shaker.
