It doesn't matter how incredibly tired I am. It doesn't matter that he peed across his room this morning. It doesn't matter that his poopy diaper leaked all over me a couple days ago. It all disappears when I look at his smiling little face and remember how absolutely amazing he is!

New tricks!
Evan is learning all kinds of new things, and building up some muscles in the process. He can now blow bubbles, sit up on his own in his bumbo seat, and stand up with help from mom and dad.
Please excuse the mess in the background. We just steam cleaned the living room carpet again and haven't moved the furniture back yet. Walking around the house is like an obstacle course.
Hanging out with dad.
Showing off his big, blue eyes.

Evan recently learned how to grab onto his blankets and burp cloths.
He loves putting them in his mouth and snuggling them against his face. It's just so much fun!
He's been working on his funny faces lately, too!
So comfy napping on his side.
He's getting pretty good at sitting up, with some assistance of course!
Six years and one baby later, we were very happy to celebrate our anniversary on Saturday.

Yay for Chris!!
Chris was recently contacted by Belmont University in Nashville asking him if he was interested in becoming their Adjunct Professor of Tuba. He responded to their inquiry and let them know that he was interested. That meant he had to apply for the position and wait for them to review his resume, CV and CD, and decide if he was right for the job. He just received an email tonight informing him that they would like to offer him the job! Of course, he's going to accept. He'll be heading to Nashville one day a week to teach and play in the faculty brass quintet. He's very excited for this new opportunity and we're hoping that either APSU or Belmont will convert their adjunct position to full-time in the near future.
4th of July weekend.
Heading to the Clarksville fireworks on the 3rd. Korre really wanted to push the stroller.
Evan slept through the entire show. Luckily, our burp cloth "ear muffs" worked great!
Evan enjoyed our walk around the neighborhood on the 4th.
Chris was the master chef for our 4th of July BBQ at Korre's house.
So excited to be 2 months old!!
Evan discovered the mirror on his swing this morning. He thought it was cool at first, but after a few minutes he got really tired of the other kid staring at him and demanded to get out.

Getting fit.
Chris and I are working on getting in shape, but Evan is showing us up on his play gym. No wonder he's only in the 32nd percentile for weight. No worries though, he gained over 2 lbs. in June and the doctor said he's eating plenty. He's just a lean, mean, exercising machine! Check out this video to see him get his fitness on, although he's pretty calm here compared to normal. Kicking the big, blue elephant is his favorite thing to do, but he's just learned how to hit the toys with his hands, and that's proven to be quite fun, too.

Evan's 2 month check-up.
Evan did great at his check-up yesterday. He weighs 10 lbs. 11 oz. and is 23 inches long. He and I both cried when he got his shots (three in total), but he was a trooper and we both survived. At least he got some cool neon orange band-aids to show off his battle wounds.
Evan's also been having issues with spitting-up and choking during and after he eats, so the doctor put him on medication for acid reflux. If it gets better, we might be able to stop the medication when we go back in two months. We're keeping our fingers crossed.
