At the moment, marching band and pep band are overlapping. There is only one more football game, but tonight's basketball game is only the second of the season...just 41 more to go!
Chris is a man with many hats these days, and his other job as the tuba and euphonium professor is keeping him quite busy as well. The department loved his idea to host a brass day in January, which he is now organizing all by himself.
All in all, this year has been filled with many opportunities and experiences for which we are grateful. The president of the university is very pleased with Chris and actually makes a point to stop by at each game to express his appreciation and support for Chris.
My job is going well, too. Teaching middle school is a little easier with a year under my belt, though I still don't particularly enjoy 8th graders. My principal is very happy with me and once again offered me the band job a few weeks ago, as soon as the current director retires.
I've also decided to play cornet in the pep band at the university to build up my chops again, since I'll be at every game anyway. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try out a few other instruments throughout the season, too.
