"F" is for First

"F" is for First solid Food and First Fever.  Evan has not enjoyed either one of these things, although he's getting the hang of solid food.

We tried rice cereal for the first time last night.  I think more of it ended up on his face, hands and bib than in his mouth.  He didn't seem to like the taste of it at all.  He had this look on his face the entire time, like, "What are you trying to feed me?  This is awful!"

This morning was more successful, although he still didn't like the taste very much.  We're going to add just a little fruit tonight in hopes that it goes better.  Fingers crossed!!

We also had another pediatrician's appointment yesterday, i.e. more shots.  As you can see, he was pretty happy getting ready for his bath last night, but woke up with a fever this morning.  Last time we checked he was at 101.4 degrees.

4 months old!

Evan is four months old and growing up too fast!  About three or four weeks ago he learned to roll from his belly to his back, and within the past two weeks he's learned to roll from back to belly.  He does a great job sitting up and standing with some help, and he's a rock star with head control.  He's becoming such a big boy, he's even getting teeth.  We've suspected teething for a couple weeks now, as he's been drooling a lot and sticking everything in his mouth.  Plus, he's been a little crabby lately, which just isn't like him.  We were able to steel a few good looks today and he definitely has two little teeth poking through his bottom gum.  We'll get the official weigh-in at the doctor on Friday, plus another round of immunization shots, but our unofficial nightly bath-time weight check put him at 13 lbs. and 3 oz.

Labor Day Weekend

Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Joy and Uncle Mark came down for a visit this weekend and we had lots of fun.  Evan went swimming for the first time and he got some new toys.  I think his favorite is the "ExerSaucer."

All done swimming.  Now it's time to dry off and snuggle.
